Our board-certified medical physicians and certified physician assistants provide top-notch male health care at Family Medicine Associates of Texas, in Carrollton. Our family practice understands that men have different health needs and concerns from women. Therefore, we provide specific services that are unique to male patients. Typically, male patients are less likely to undergo preventative care then women. Ignoring a symptom or believing it will go away on its own is not a healthy practice. A medical concern should not be compartmentalized to the "it's no big deal" category. Through yearly check-ups and routine screenings, our practice can provide you with medical data of your current health. This will help you to understand your level of wellness and areas that may require more attention or care. Our practice is here to serve you.
"Dr. Laibstain is the best doctor I've had. She's very attentive with you and has amazing bed side manners. She makes an effort to understand a patient as a whole and explain how different things affect their health. She also stays on top of lab results and goes over the results individually to help you interpret and understand what they really mean."- K. / Healthgrades / Apr 27, 2018
"Dr. Stewart had been my primary care physician for 17 years, and I couldn't be happier. He has seen me through all the ups and downs of an autoimmune disease, birthing and raising children, and the many physical and psychological / emotional challenges I've encountered through the years. He has done all of this with great compassion and kindness. I never feel rushed when I am in his office because he takes ample time to listen to my concerns and to address them. When I am unable to get in to see Dr. Stewart, Family Medicine is always able to get me into another physician or nurse practitioner quickly. It's a wonderful, efficient office with excellent medical care. I'll never change our health care provider for as long as we live in North Texas."- C.R. / Yelp / Feb 04, 2018
"No issues with the office staff. Everything seems to run smoothly. They've updated their clinic, it's nice. I see Marla Lehmann, who is very sweet and who is always spot on for diagnoses. Blood work is a little extra money, but you should always expect that it will be. Most insurances don't include it in the co-pay. They will bill you. Not a big deal. Overall very happy with Family Medicine Associates. I've been coming for years. I will suggest you see only the doctors highly recommended in these reviews though - I once saw Bethany who was very nasty to me, and another doctor (can't remember her name) who was very pushy and decided to run every blood test in the book for me for a simple diagnosis."- V.A. / Yelp / Apr 19, 2018

"I have been going to Dr Stewart for 3 yrs now, wait time has always been less than 5 min, he is on top of everything including what shots you need now that I am 60. As being a woman he makes me feel very comfortable, I have to say he is the most professional doctor I have ever seen. Thank you"- S.B. / Healthgrades / Mar 10, 2018
We care for the health needs and concerns of men from adolescence to adulthood. However, we recognize as men get older, their bodies begin to change. Undergoing wellness screenings, erectile dysfunction exams, and testosterone therapy assessments are essential to keeping you healthy and vigorous. Our family medical practice is proud to offer the following services for our male patients:
Prostate Cancer Screening
Prostate cancer is cancer of the prostate, which is a small male reproductive gland that produces and transports semen. A PSA test measures the levels of prostate-specific antigen in the prostate, which is a protein produced specifically by this gland. If the levels are abnormal, then it is an indication of prostate cancer. However, this screening may be done in conjunction with other testing as well to accurately confirm a diagnosis.
Erectile dysfunction is when a male cannot obtain, or hold an erection that is firm enough for sexual intercourse. This condition is very common in men over the age of 60. The cause of this condition is usually due to old age, however, other physical or emotional conditions can contribute as well. Once your doctor has performed a thorough examination, treatment options will be presented.
Testosterone Pellet Therapy
Just as women go through a transitional period of menopause, men go through andropause. This is the decline of testosterone levels and sex drive in men. However, thanks to modern medicine, testosterone pellet therapy is a treatment that can boost testosterone levels. This treatment can improve low libido, erectile dysfunction, and build muscle mass as well.
